    Celeste/RVR

Can anyone tell me if its possible to fit the Evo engine from a RVR to a autobox from a 2.0GT Celeste.

Hmmm I think this will be a trial and error thing but in all honesty I doubt very much the autobox from the Celeste will handle that amout of power. The early 4g63 NA often only put out well under 100hp.
Converting to a manual with a gearbox from a 2 litre Starion or Lancer Turbo would be the better road IMHO.

Thanks for that Drive-by. I will look into that, but wanted really to leave it auto to save work.

guarantee you're going to hate the auto/turbo combo and end up making it a 5spd anyway

Mitsu auto's for the 4cylinders are terrible at holding torque. Even the stock Starion Turbo autos don't last long when the boost is turned up.

I'd say the educated majority says its a manual swap is the only safe option. Although I would also say your fears over the amout of work involved may not be justified.
Plenty of people around with spare Starion and Lancer parts so swapping in a manual pedal box shoudn't be the nightmare you anticipate.
Lastly Lancer Turbo rear end would be a must I'd say when you want to make the most of the massive power hike.

look up my 78 lancer build and you will get an idea of whats required to fdo a 5 speed swap on a lb. Should be similar with the celeste.

The borg warner transmissions are crap though. I have on idea how the early 3 speeds compare though,

I think i have got the message now, manual is the way to go. :tu: .
The RVR i brought was on a bit of a wim and i dont know much about them. Are they all turbo because mine does not look like one and would that make it more in tune with my (rubbish :td: ) auto box.
