    1971 Skyline GT-R (S20)!!!

Hey JNC'ers I wanted to share this GC10 with you that was at the Palo Alto Concours D' Elegance. This is a Euro/US show that just recently opened up a display only category for Vintage Japanese cars. Lots of folks enjoyed the display, and it was cool to see the appreciation in a sea of Ferrari's and Benz's

I heard that this was a real GT-R with the famed S20 engine, it was amazing! I have never seen a real GT-R in person.

Check the rest of the pics there were several 240z cars, a Toyota 2000GT, S800, Honda S600 and a Levin

    enjoy!
Big thanks to David Swig(Of motoringJStyle fame) for inviting us and spreading the word about vintage Japanese cars!

Im super happy to see these pictures but it also breaks my heart as I wasn’t able to make it out yesterday. I hope in the near future I'll be able to see it in person.

Ahhh that car is so awesome! :tu:

Surely there's too many modifications on there for it to have entered a concours show?

Nice car, don't get me wrong. Just seems odd.

brings up the question: what's ultimately worth the most, bone stock or modded?

Depends on the car. And the mods. And the buyer. 8)

Just to clarify, this is a heavily modified car, invited for display only. I've got all the correct engine and suspension bits in boxes at my shop, but I doubt I'll ever put them back on - it's too much fun as is! ;^)

I spent countless hours and $$$ restoring the Honda s800 next to it for the show, and brought this one along for kicks. As it turned out, no one really cared for the Honda, but they loved the Skyline!

EDIT: BTW, it's great to see that a few more people are starting to recognize the value of "stock" parts, especially for JDM cars. I hope this trend continues. I myself tend to prefer stock, but in this case the car was running so good that just had to leave it be! ;^)

The Japanese cars were invited for display only, not judging
But the idea is that someday(soon) our cars will be considered for Concours shows just as much as the others!
