Well 25 years is when a car becomes nostalgic but I don't think to many people will complain.

There were a couple of really nice ones of these at the Toyotafest. Check the event coverage on the blog.

I think it depends on the cantry you live in. In Europe or on the east cost of North America, a 22 year old japanese car is already nostalgic. In hot and dry states it will be just another car thatīs not that new anymore.

the mid 80s to late, all the overlaps.

this toyota stayed the same for 22 years..just add vtec and a bigger fart can, some injection.

the same time frame had last of 22r.. .carbed. RWD truck or what have you. That is nostalgic...this toyota is not.

the 1.6 is interesting topic however.
My sube was caught up in that, along with many cars...1985-early 1990s. even stumped auto inspector. looks like a loyale with extended rear end..peak in the window to see the ten gear shifter, and then pop the hood to the ice cold carb standard with a breather found on 50 years of webers...all factory.

it is a tricky time in auto history, must know your stuff... :tu:
