i resently changed out the 4speed 1.8l MA engine setup in my 78 929 wagon to a 5speed 2liter MA engine setup from an 82 929hb.
i did this in the belief that it would get me some ekstra power, and lower my cruise rpm. the rpm got alot better, buuuuut. the engine is seriously low on power. its not as powerful as the old engine, and it struggles on hillclimbs.
i know the timing is fucked upp, and i have tried to fix it. but whatever i do, it doesnt seme to get more power.
how are you suposed to set the timing? (i have a timing light gun)
whitch sylinder do i get the read from? what rpm do i adjust from.
what i have done so far is adjust on low idle, with signal from the front sylinder. i have set it to the little point marked before the top dead senter mark on the crank pulley.
am i doing something wrong?
