Isn't the FWD 3S-GE a transverse mounted engine? So if the 1S is a longitudinal tranny, that should be an odd fit, right? It may take some customization. :|

yep, if he had the budget we'll definitely go with the altezza motor, sadly we dont, we'll just go with whats currently available to the budget, heres the story, this friend of mine is looking for a project car and he spotted a third gen celica thats been stock in a garage for years, it has a stock carburated 1s motor, he told me what possible better motor could fit in it, i said maybe some other late model s series motor could fit, i told him i had a 2nd gen fwd 3sge lying around in the shop, maybe that would fit but i'm not sure, so before he acquire the car, we just want to be sure if its possible to make the conversion with as little as what we have, it would totally save us some time and money experimenting, and so here we are asking

actually, since it has s engine mounts and bellhousing, it should fit in fairly well unless there is a huge difference between the 1s and 3s engines
