Taillight tint removal :( - I messed up, lol

So I was trying to just barely tint the turn signals on my taillights (think kouki ae86 tails)... and I got carried away. I would just wetsand it down a bit, but it's on the ribbed part of the x7 tail lights, so it would be nearly impossible. Any ideas?

It looks good! I just know I'm going to get hassled by the police over it, lol.

you want to remove the tint?

there are special removal products for that, I used a solvent we have at work when I removed the yellow from my foglights.

Be careful not to dissolve the original lens dye. Although I'm not sure how you can remove the tint without taking off some dye though...

Or you could strip it all off and paint the whole thing again in red, that would look pretty cool :P

I did the same thing on my TE72 tail lights. I use "Citristrip" it works wonders. Did not fade the original lens. Just follow instruction.

    Good Luck

I bought the spray from Home Depot

Funny, I was also trying to "match" the AE86 level of tint, and over did it too, and I need to start over. Let us know how it goes... in my case, I might just make the other one darker.

Well, I've had 2 or 3 cops behind me since I smoked them, and they haven't pulled be over yet. I think that since the brake lights aren't smoked, they haven't noticed they aren't oem yet . I might be able to pull it off, we'll see, lol.
