A day at the races (Mihama circuit)

My pops is in town and felt like getting a day away at the track, so I loaded up my rolla and we headed down to a pretty decent sized event at Mihama circuit. Was a gorgeous day with about 50 cars split into 4 groups. I managed to completely cook my brakes on the 3rd round, so a quick swap of the front pads from right to left and left to right and I went back out and ran my quickest time of the day, a 50.3 second lap. Not too bad for old tired soft suspension and cooked brakes!

    On to the pics!

    Gettin my gloves on.

    Ready to go!

My buddy Katata san also raced in the red with white hood Levin. That thing is fast!

I'm getting out on to the circuit.

    Let's race!

    Definitely a fun day!
Although I need new brakes now haha.
    Cheers
    David

    Thanks!
The suspension isn't stock but feels and performs probably worse than stock, haha. It's got RSR springs on it that feel way under-sprung and Tein shocks that feel way too stiff. A weird match up. Means driving down the street it sits low and is pretty uncomfortable as it bangs and bounces around. Then when you give it the beans and show it some corners it becomes a surrender monkey and rolls over, haha.

Definitely in need of some coilovers, but that would be dipping into my Mitsubishi 360 paint fund, so I'm just toughing it out and having fun with what I got for now!

    Cheers
    David

Ahhh... nothing like a track day to get it out of your system. Are you allowed to add some cooling ducts in your class? Cooked brakes always got me too. Enjoy! Neko.

Hey David you might look into anti sway bars instead cause of it will help with the rolling around corners for sure

    Rolly-poly!

    I've been in Dave's 'Rolla.

(I didn't realize until now how appropriate that nickname is! )

I would say that he is bang on. The car is massively over-damped, but rolls as bad as stock (worse??) on the track.
