    Qustion on early GTO restoration

Hi, newbie here from Indonesia would like to ask to those in this forum who have experience in restoring an early GTO.

I found this from the junkyard. Condition is so poor with rust eating the metal shell. Fender and hood are mostly rusted (not sure if this still can be made from the metal shape left), front grill are gone, engine looks phisically complete (saturn engine). Interior is poor too.

Although the junkyard owner said the price is reasonalbly not so high, is it worth doing restoration project on this car? I would love to hear many input from this forum. Thanks before.

Yeah how easy is it to get parts in your country?
So far I've only found a GSR2000 grille locally which was quickly bought by a friend. 'Your' GTO looks like the MR version?

Edited to add: Also found a pair of tail lights but didn't buy them. Most probably gone by now.

If I were you I would be looking for a better shell and the car shown would be a parts car.

The only concern for me would be finding the fenders and other parts. You probably wont find a cheaper car, so i would go for it.It needs to be sand blasted but atleast it looks pretty straight

You will need to buy another one, or atleast a good amount of parts. My estimate would be that the car would take 7,000 bucks to complete( including some tools like a small welder :P )( provided that you do many of the work yourself )

Nice, but she looks pretty beat up, would be a nice racecar?

The front looks like it needs a lot of work and the rare square wheel arches have been added and have to be sorted.

You could import one from new zealand cheaper... http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 187759.htm

it really depends on what it looks like after blasting. Anythign can be done if you know a good sheet metal worker,
