Really nice find, have a few questions. 1979 Corolla Deluxe

Went out to a junk yard not far from where i live to drop off a key for an Accord i totaled and decided to have a look around. I talked to the lady there and explained to her that I,m always looking for older Japersanese cars and if she had anything out there I could look at. She told me she really doesnt have anything like that out there. Way wrong haha. 2 AW11's, an FB RX-7, 5 or so Zed's of varying ages. On my way back up front I see this little green lift back of some kind. The closer I got up to it I found that it was a 79 TE51 Corolla in SOOOOPER mint shape. The interior is awesome, even had its owners manual still lol. So I went back up front and taked to the lady about the car. 2 years or so ago the car was driven here after the little old lady who owned it died (RIP). She told me that the car was in such good shape she couldn't bring herself to chop it up. She told me I was only one in these past years thats showed the little Corolla any interest. So I asked her if she would sell it to me and she replied that she would talk tot eh boss man and see what he would want for it.

As for the questions, Ive never messed with one of these so If some of you guys are sitting on some pictures of these Ide love to see em. Also, its an auto, and I just dont like autos so if i decide to keep it i may want to convert it over, any suggestions or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

That's a nice, clean find. I hope you can make a deal and bring her home! :tu:

Oh man, that is definitely too nice to chop up. If you want more pep, there's a wide range of tuning options or engine swaps. You'll probably end up trading the auto for a T50 5speed, which is pretty common. Good luck with the purchase!

Go for it, if all else fails you could part it out for much more than that...it looks super-clean.
