    1995 MX-5 M edition...

Bought this awhile ago out of San Diego and had a fun but slow trip across country. Drove from Carlsbad, Ca. up to Huntington Beach and left L.A. at the Santa Monica Pier heading east on I-10.

It had 60k on it when I picked it up and it now has 80k and it has been to Myrtle Beach and all the way to Port Saint Lucie, Fl. for Christmas. On the trip down it was getting just under 36 mpg!

This is at it sat on the dealer's lot:

    Visit to Long Beach:

Visit to Florida and meeting its porky brother 350Z:

    Visit to Skyline Drive :

Doing some wheel well and undercarriage cleaning:

Nice. What did you use to clean under the car?

For the most part it was Castrol Superclean but I have to preface that by saying that the patient was a Southern California resident and also did not have the unnecessary undercoating applied. For some places where the dirt has been attended to before I use Armor All Car Cleaner as the Superclean can be very harsh.

In some areas I used a toothbrush to get at the odd shapes and since the oil pan and transmission case are aluminum the toothbrush did a good job and did not score the surface.

I also had to remove the underbelly shield and inner fender liners to get everything cleaned. Now I just need to find a car show for the little MX-5 to participate in...lol.

I was surprised to see that both colors are very close to each other. In the sun the 350Z has larger metallic flake in the paint.

I will be sure to do that. I know the MSCW (Mazda Sportscar Club of Washington) does frequent drives to Skyline throughout the year.
