    handbrake question

    hey,
i have a 1998 Isuzu ute with the under dash hand brake, this is the first car i have owned with this set up, the cable has come away from the bottom of the shaft after a few weeks of being unable to take the brake off without a lot of mucking around, then it just came free and no longer works. the cable is intact where it comes into the cabin and has the end on it but i am unsure as to what this cable connects to in the actual hand brake bit you pull.

    any ideas

Cant say ive ever worked on a Rodeo before, but maybe head down to your local wreckers and pull apart an XF Falcon? Pretty sure they had the old "umbrella" handbrakes.

    well it's all sorted now

i have no idea how the cable came out of it's little hole but i had to remove the whole assembly from the ute to see how it worked........any one who has been under the dash in a rodeo will understand how little space there is to swing a spanner.
