    1979 Datsun 200b sr20 Bluebird 810

Hi guys! My name is Chris I'm 24 years old and I'm from Melbourne Australia. I have been following builds on this forum for a few years now and thought its about time I shared mine. It's a 1979 Datsun 200b here in Australia and a 810 bluebird in japan. I am the second owner of the car i brought the car in Mid 2009 in factory condition. I have chopped and changed all sorts of different wheels colors and bits and pieces only to be very happy with the way it is now

    Thanks toolZ. Some specs.

    Engine:
    - Red top s13 sr20det with 5 speed box on Maddat fitting kit (AUS Datsun performance company)
    - Low mount Kinugawa TD05 18g 10cm turbo
    - A Bosch 040 external fuel pump and a small little FMIC
    - Exhaust is 3in from dump back runs through a high flow cat and a small muffler into a nice set of twin 2 1/2in blast pipes.

    Suspension:
    - Up front I have s13 Sr knuckles and brakes
    - LCAs are cut and shut half R33 half 200b....
    - Maddat sway bar and racing logic fully adjustable coilovers.
    - The rear has 910 bluebird live axle diff with cut standard springs and standard shocks :?

    Body:
    - Wheels are Ssr MK2s in 15x7 +25 front and back with a 25 mm spacer up front'
    - Front and back bumpers and grill are off the earlier model 200b the GL, I think they give it a much more nostalgic look.
    - The fender mirrors are a NOS item i got from japan also.

Interior: Quite factory apart from Nardie wheel and 3 Omori gauges water oil temp and boost

You've done everything I've planned to do! I have a few questions if you don't mind. How did you find the maddat fitting kit? From what I've heard, the sr bolts straight in with the stock mounts, always wondered why a kit was needed. Also, has the s13 gear changed the track and steering geometry much? I've been planning on giving it a go but heard the track increase is quite substantial.

Finally, What's it like to drive? I'm stuck with the L20b for the moment and have always wondered how much better it would go with an sr20 haha

Let me just say first boy o boy is it fun to drive with the Sr! It's like putting a cat in a bag and shaking it up then letting loose . Don't get me wrong, I love the L series engines and almost feel a little sad it's gone but woooo when a commodore pulls up beside you and the driver starts laughing at your mirrors on the bonnet and you drop back a gear and give it a squirt the look on there face is priceless

With the Maddat kit it does make easy work of it, just bolt it all up. It also sits the engine right back close to the fire wall where you want it. Maddat also make a new gearbox X member as the factory one does not fit. This being said a lot of people have done it without using the kit and it looks quite easy enough with some minor mods

The s13 gear was a bit of a headache I wouldn't recommend doing it :td: . It drives quite well, brakes are amazing, but having cut and shut LCAs is a bit of a worry that the welds could fail. It is really the only way of doing it with out a lot of work. It has a slight bit more bump steer as well, the coilovers make the biggest difference, having thrust bearing tops makes the steering feel a lot lighter and responsive. Also the cars lock is also increased a fair bit. I will post some pictures of the front suspension soon
