Which period late 70's steering wheel??

So I'm looking to swap the original steering wheel in my Trueno for something a little smaller and more sporty.
    But what should I chose...??

    This needs to go.

I want it to be late 70's period as my Trueno is from '77. I also want it to have that JDM feel to it.
What would the Jap weekend racer have put in his Trueno in the late 70's for those spirited weekend runs out to Suzuka?
I'm considering the TOM's steering wheel. But I'm not totally sure if this steering wheel was even around in the late 70's? Does anyone know?

The epic Watanabe Falcon is another obvious option. But I think that too is a bit too new for my Trueno??
Furthermore, I guess the Watanabe is waaaay out of my price range...

But which other options would I have??
Would a 350 mm Momo Prototipo perhaps be an option? Just doesn't feel very JDM does it... :?

Why don't you try Nardi wheels?

Well, I ended up buying an old 350mm Momo wheel that came up cheap.
It's in the post know. Once it arrives I'll treat it to some leather care and a TOM's horn button.
    Stand by for pics...

old Momos or Nardis are always at home in old school japs. can't wait to see pics!

also, are you interested in selling your stock steering wheel to me? mine is dead due to the Arizona heat.

Sorry, but I'll be keeping the original wheel.
My TE61 is just soooo unmolested and original that I want to still be able to return her to stock at any time, should I be so inclined...

But surely you too can find a nice little Momo or similar for your TE51??

I dunno about easy to find but yes, other Toyotas had the same wheel. My 79 Celica GT had the same wheel but it was leather covered, too.
