    Nissan 2400GT -72 - aka LHD Hakosuka

    Since my project thread was one of the threads that disappeared, I thought Id make another attempt.

    Ive been searching for a KPGC10 for the last 6-8 years but never found the right one for the right amount at the right time. And even though Ive been interested in Hakos for a number of years, I didnt know until recently that they were sold in Europe in LHD. This summer I went to Portugal for holiday and just before we went there, a very nice, unrestored LHD sedan showed up in an ad. Since I was only a few hours drive away, I had to go and take a look. The ad said it had 68000km on the clock but that turned out to be wrong. After viewing it and searching for more info about the car on Portugese car forums, I realized how special it was. Everything pointed to the fact that the ODO was right and that the car only had done 9908km from new! Now I became REALLY interested, so I decided I had to buy it. I went back to the dealer and we arranged all the papers. After that I just had to wait almost a month before the car was back home. At this point Im sure you want to know what it looks like so here are a few pics to brake up all the text.

    So, what exactly is it that Ive bought? Its one of 42 LHD Hakos sold in Portugal in 1972. The car was also sold in Finland, the Netherlands and Switzerland, but Im not aware that it was sold in any other European countries. A best guess is that there are around 20-30 cars left in total in Europe and I dare say that this is the best kept one of them all. Id be VERY surprised if another one surfaced in the same or better condition.

    The car was owned by the Nissan distributor on Madeira island from 1972 until 2008. At that time it had around 5800km on the clock. It wasnt that appreciated in the family and was considered something of a "black sheep".

    It was then sold to a car collector named Jorge who had it until 2010 when the car dealer I bought it from bought it.

    The car has all the available options:

    Den har alla options som fanns att vlja 1972:

    * AM-radio
    * Steering lock
    * Radio antenna
    * Rear window defroster
    * Clock
    * Cigarette lighter
    * Passing light switch
    * Neck support
    * Safety belts

    Its also got some other things thats unsual. The small parts box in the center console with the wood cover is rare and so is the shelf below the glove box.

    Whats not original inside the car are the horn button, door speakers and the hazard switch. Outside the rims and the fender badges arent original. Ive managed to secure a set of front fender badges so those will go on as soon as Ive scanned them properly for future reference.

    The car is now registered in Sweden and stored away since winter is coming fast.

    Hope you enjoyed this long first post. Fire away if you have any questions.
