There were a quite a few aftermarket companies that made these for Celicas and other cars. The whole fad was kicked off by the Porsche 924/944. There were some that had lighted panels (hooked into the license plate lights) while others were just plain panels. Spome of the more expensive kits were made/sold by places like Beverly Hills Motoring and the cheaper stuff could be had from JC Whitney's. A lot of dealers installed them to boost profits as well. The biggest drawback (other than it was a shameless copy of the 944, kind of like the Altezza tails of the 2000s) to me was that a cheesy license plate holder with a light had to be screwed on under the bumper and it just looked so tacked on. It looks great if you don't need a rear license plate but what state allows that?
Rare find anyways. I wish I knew what brand it was. The owner had a light rigged behind it but it wasnt part of a kit or anything.
Anybody interested in it?
I sort of am...depending on how much you want for it I'll have you ship it along with those FC tails. It'd look cool in my room.
