Short story, a friend is freshening a 1974 VB-powered Courier. Pistons are domed but sit 2mm in the hole. 8.3:1 seems too low. He's got a set of .75 over stock-type domed pistons and a long-tube header, Weber and adapter. Daily driver in SoCal.
I'll do a mild port job, match manifold, good seat work. He's looking for a cam choice. I may make a manifold to head spacer to add some runner length.
Adding 4mm stroke seems perfect way to get the pistons up to the deck?
Bearings look to be the same? F/MA? Wiki is vague and I haven't an MA crank to compare to the stocker.
Will zero-deck work without domes hitting head or valves? It'll be checked for clearance and minor notching is ok for us.
I'm assuming that 2mm of block cut is excessive and P'sO the tensioner?
