    Lowering blocks--Corolla Wagon????????

    Corolla wagon owners:

What brand of lowering block are you using? I currently have unknown 3" blocks and they're garbage. I'm looking to get 2" blocks to bring the rear up just a bit.. Any luck with universal blocks, or is there a company that makes specific blocks for the Corolla? I've searched and no luck so far..

    Thanks--Brandon

What makes the blocks "garbage"? They're either gonna be cast or extruded aluminum or cast iron. I would be more concerned about the quality of the U-bolts. You can get different lengths, diameters, and bend radius U-bolts from off-roading truck shops.

Also, you might consider getting longer shackles instead of shorter blocks. It might improve the geometry of the rear end a little to have the leafs more parallel to the ground...

The blocks were on the car when I bought it, and the rear end has side to side play. The blocks are a universal style (fit poorly) , and the ubolts are as tight as their going to get . I have not looked into longer shackles as there doesn't appear to be room for them. I'm thinking about having a set of springs made to just remove the blocks from the equation..

Sylvester, have you used longer shackles on a Corolla?

Ah, I see. Sounds like the locating pin in the blocks are gone/missing.

Unfortunately, no. It was just something I remember reading in a suspension/handling book that said having the spring parallel to the ground would eliminate/reduce roll steer.
