    vintage Fairlady Z

My friend and I drove across the country in an attempt to save what was left of this Z.

We transported most of the car back home in the van.

The salvage yard owner said it had been sitting in the same spot for many years. He crushed all the cars in his lot every 6 months to rotate his inventory, but he always saved this one because he thought it was special, with the steering wheel being on the wrong side.

We used the van to tow the car from its muddy resting place into the open area.

Being in the middle of nowhere without a lift and proper equipment, it took a day and a half to dismantle the car. The owner even let us stay overnight in the salvage yard because we were working so late. We used a portable generator for the electricity.

Upload the pictures to imageshack.us and then just post the forum code in your message here. Can't wait to see what you managed to save from this rare beast. Shame the whole car couldn't be rescued.

Damn son! we have got to get together at sometime. If you are near OKC, ever make it to cars and coffee? I am usually out there in either of the celicas. Been trying to start a JNC meet around here. Oh yeah, that is a heck of a save! Too bad it was so rusted. Definitely cool to see what you were able to save.
