So i had a friend who was building this but didn't have the funds to do everything he wanted and he needed to buy school books so he put it up for sale. so i bought it for the cost of his school books $500 and now im the proud owner of an AW11 mr2!

Nice purchase! Looks just a tiny bit too nice to be a true "turd."

    the only issues really are:

-needs a driver side motor mount
    -needs tie rod ends
-runs poorly and sputters after it warms up and has been driven hard

I was about to accuse you of theft for stealing your friends car. By looks that was way more then a 500 car.

Then you listed the issues. Seems like a good price for someone else's issues

    Good luck with the build.

fixed the sputtering and the motor mount. it just needed a new 02 sensor and some studs for the mount. problem solved

A steal at $500.. but it WAS a gamble... could have needed a rebuild so you are rewarded for your taking the risk. No guts no glory right?

Nice ride... makes me miss my old one.

well i knew the car pretty well, i used to street race it for him because he couldnt launch or shift or anything plus i knew more about it than the previous owner did, thats why he gave it to me for such a steal

Still amazes me as to how cheap you can get these. If I wasn't living at an apartment, I would probably have 3-4 of them...again.
