1973 toyota corona deluxe sedan rt85

im deciding whether to put a 4age and turbo or an sr20det? any input ?? i know both are going to need extensive fab but its my project car ... im wanting to make around 300-350hp range ... any suggestions on the rear end i heard of a ford 8" rear ? I have been researching online for weeks but everything ends up being a mark II or another year ..

    thanks

How old is the SR now? I ask cause maybe you might want to consider a more modern motor since you will have to do alot of fab work.

And think the ford rears are pretty common for people to use.

Which motor would u suggest? I'm going to drive this car a lot so I want the range of hp/tq not to stress the motor too much.. that is my reason why I was thinking of sr.. but I can get a 4age blue top for 200

Beams (3sge), VQ30 or 35, 1UZ, 3/5MZ, F20C. Just ideas. Not sure what a modern 4 banger nissan motor is.

And I could very well be wrong on the SR, just have this thought that it is dated.

The 3sge can only be obtained in japan .... I was looking at the 1uz locally its 475 which is cheap but idk if it can fit in the 73 corona ... fc20 is too expensive lol ... I'm way over my head hahaha I've been researching a lot but I still can't decide ...

The 4age doesn't actually really require that much fab, I was going to drop in a 4agze for my 73 wagon, but I decide to go with the 1UZ, which actually isn't that bad of fab work either. If you know how to fab, its really not that bad, with the Sr20 or the f20, would actually require more than the 4age or 1uz. The corona set up is the same as 5m, 7mge, or if you want a little bit more fun the 2jz fits in with almost no fab.

I haven't done it yet, its in the process. I'm running the 4m until the end of the year. But same concept, 1uz, r154 trans, with rear end from mki supra for disc brakes. But I know other people that have done the 1uz in the coronas and they love it way better than a 2jz or anything else. But all the info I've got on this set up is pretty solid with no issues. Check it out on YouTube. There is a guy with a 72 coupe mark ii with a 1uz. You'll fall in love after you see his.

Hey atleast if your 1uz is for $475 and its legit jdm, that's worth it! My friend from project car magazine can only get me a deal of $600 for a legit 1uz jdm. Stupid cali.
