  • First generation Celica questions

    Hi,
I have a few questions about how to group first gen Celicas.
I will preface this by saying I am aware that there are very specific chassis codes that specify a very particular model configuration, but I am more after codes which encompass 'groups' of them.

    A few questions:
What is the difference between A20 and A30? I cannot find any info which clarifies this.

Is there some common chassis codes which group together and separate early from late model variants etc?

Can a TA20, RA20, RA21 and TA22 (all early notch backs) be grouped under a code?
Can RA23 and TA27 (both early lift backs) be grouped under a code?
Can a RA23 and RA24 (both late model notch backs) be grouped under a code?
Can TA28, RA28, RA29 (all late model lift backs) be grouped under a code?

There seem to be heaps of codes, and surely there is some way to group them together.

    Cheers

    Hi,

    *A20 = Celica
    *A30 = Carina

    For the Celica, 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24 are coupes.
    While 25, 27, 28, 29, 35 are liftback models.
