Kidney, Anyone? 25K-Mile 1974 Toyota Celica

We’ve seen low mileage Celica Liftbacks before (both yellow, oddly enough), but this is the first Coupe. According to the seller, this 1974 Toyota Celica had just one owner for the first 34 years of its life. When he passed, the current seller acquired it in the estate sale with the plans of making it a “hot rod,” whatever that means.
But after taking a whiff of that ‘74 new-car smell, he couldn’t bring himself to cut up a 25,000-mile gem. That’s great news for the collector who will shell out at least 51 Benjamins (and reserve not met!) for this red cherry.
Going by the photos, it could probably use a thorough detailing, but thus far this is the lowest mileage coupe we’ve seen and it’s got a full ownership history.
Thanks to Jeff W. for the tip!

Nice clean Celica!
Not intended to bitch about the find, but I did find a 22k kilometer 1974 Celica coupe in Portugal a month ago and posted it on the forum (also sent it to the feedback address):

Even though the Portugese Celica is a bit more expensive, I’d definitely favor that one: it is LHD, it has less on its odometer and got the much more wanted 2TG engine!
The only questions is how much it would cost to get it to the States.

I have a question. There is a 70 Toyota Crown for sale, that I might have a chance to buy. It is not in pristine condition, but every thing is there. It hasn’t been driven much in twenty years but still runs. I know a lot of people would shy away from a 30 some year old car with very low mileage because all the important things might be dried up and may need to be rebuilt. But this Crown has a little over 100,000 miles, do you thinc it’s worth it? Any feedback would be appreciated!

Wow, wish I found that at the estate sale, I gaurantee that he paid dirt money for it!
And Bert…….buy it. Why think, just do! Plenty of time to think about it later!

Go for it Bert! Even if the motor lets out on you there has to be some interesting cheap swaps. Plus if it’s in good shape, the parts are always worth something. Win/Win in my book!

I wouldn’t buy the Crown, Bert. Let me buy it, save you the effort.
