Haha, what could possibly be the purpose of those convoluted bends?
It looks as though a near straight piece would have fit!

Nissan MAFs are notorious for needing a lot of space between it and the turbo. Wave pulses from the turbine like to throw off voltage readings. I have seen as much at .7V variances with MAFs too close. Looks silly, but it is necessary.
