VIDEO: Hankook Tires shows why FJ40s are awesome

Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 Hankook Tire

With the popularity of the FJ40 at auction, it makes you wonder if people who buy them will actually use them how they were intended. Sometimes it’s not cool when companies try to spice up their brand with an old Land Cruiser. This latest ad, called “Chasing Daylight” by Hankook Tires, is the opposite of that.

Modern Korean tire being advertised by an old school Japanese off-roader. I like this world we live in.

They could have used an old Hyundai Galloper (Mitsubishi Pajero)!

We got a lot of these here on Chile around 99-2003 I believe, and are a crappy clones of the Montero, the mechanics and the people who owned one often call it “Malloper” (that would be translated roughly as “Badoper” or something like that to english) because of their terrible build quality. The Mitsubishi Pajero/Montero is light years away on quality compared to the Galloper.

I’ve always liked the first gen Korando. Pretty much a rebadged jeep for the korean market.
