NEWS: Toyota introduces Heritage Edition Land Cruiser

For 2020, Toyota is releasing a Land Cruiser Heritage Edition, celebrating the go-anywhere SUV’s 60-plus years of continuous sales. Toyota established their US offices in late 1957, and have sold Land Cruisers in the states ever since then. Not even the Corolla can boast that kind of longevity.

The Land Cruiser Heritage Edition will come in only two color choices, black or white (Midnight or Blizzard Pearl in Toyota’s parlance). It comes with an unique grille and exclusive bronze 18×8.0 wheels with old school Helvetica “TOYOTA” center caps. Perhaps the coolest feature is a classic Land Cruiser badge on the C-pillar in the same font as the emblem of an FJ40.

Otherwise, the only notable differences are a running board delete, giving the rig a more rugged stance. Some minor cosmetic changes, such as smoked chrome brightwork on the front (headlight housings, fog lights surrounds, side mirror trim) and bronze stitching on interior surfaces.

Only 1,200 will be produced, and Land Cruiser collectors go nuts over the special edition models, even if changes are minimal. The Heritage Edition will debut at the Chicago Auto Show in February.

Wish it had a 3rd row seat. Awesome, nonetheless.

Did anyone spot the cream FJ40

Still surprised that they do not offer a competitor to the Jeep Wrangler, since the FJ Cruiser has been discontinued.
