MINICARS: Get your Then & Now Hot Wheels Mazda RX-7s this Saturday

This Saturday, September 16, is another one of Hot Wheels’ Kmart exclusive K Days, and it’s one you won’t want to miss. It will be the only opportunity to buy this Mazda RX-7 pair in red at a retail store.

If you are not familiar with K Days, you can find out more by reading this primer. Basically, participating Kmart stores will offer a few castings in exclusive colors not available anywhere else. This Saturday those exclusives will include two Mazda RX-7s, part of the Then & Now series, an SA22 (with livery reminiscent of the Daytona 24 Hours GTU winner) and the highly anticipated new-for-2017 FD3S.

If you are lucky, you have been able to find these cars in the standard blue coloring. Those have been released, but have proven hard to find. The red ones should be even harder. In this same assortment this Saturday you will also find the new black Acura Integra and, if the diecast gods are smiling upon you, a Treasure Hunt Nissan Fairlady Z. Good luck, collectors!

Back in 1981 I worked at a Kmart while in community college – the Kmart management was telling us that Kmart, #2 retailer may overtake Sears, #1 retailer in the nation, so tighten your seat belts for a wild ride ahead.

BAM – then Wally World showed up.

The closest K-Mart is thousands of miles away..and an ocean apart for me. Love the FD taillight tampo!

  5. Miguel says:

Got them all, I had to drive like an hour to the closest Kmart tho

They had no idea what I was talking about at my nearest Kmart. And this is why they will not survive, as a retailer, to see the end of the decade. Is there anyone I can PayPal to get me a set or two?
