Friday Video: Mitsubishi Starion vs Toyota Crown

Poor Sgt. Daimon. It seems that no matter what TV series he’s in, he is always called upon to dispatch a ridiculously over-armed bad guy with a single shot worthy of Vasily Zaytsev, after which he must solemnly watch their last gasps from behind his aviator shades.

Of course this isn’t really Seibu Keisatsu‘s Daimon, but actor Tetsuya Watari playing Shou Kuramoto in Guerilla: Tokyo Police Group 8, another cop show from the late 80s. He’s also traded his gull-winged S130 Fairlady Z for a silver Mitsubishi Galant VR-4.

But lest you fear that Tokyo police are somehow riding in anything less than utmost style, there’s another gull-winged sports coupe in the form of a black Mitsubishi Starion! Along with perennial Kevin San favorite, a Debonair V 3000 Royal AMG, they swing into action when a shady dockside gathering in a S80 Toyota Crown goes south.

They got TV shows where the bad guys had guided missiles and artillery.

We got TV shows where the good guys had talking cars and rednecks jumped the same bridge in every episode.

    I feel so cheated.

He’s so awesomely bad, he didn’t even take his glasses off for that shot!

    My captcha’s not very encouraging.
