Design Study: Datsun 240Z Vs Nissan 350Z

Here’s an good design comparison between the Datsun 240Z and the soon-to-debut Nissan 370Z on Jalopnik. Rumor has it that the 370Z is 300lbs lighter than the outgoing 350Z, and will produce more horsepower, 332 to be exact. Though it’s hard to tell from photos, the 370Z is also shorter than the 350Z, with a wheelbase of 99 inches. We’re not as fond of the new look as our friends at Jalopnik are, but we’ll reserve judgment until we see it in person at the LA Auto Show next week.

I don’t find the new design terribly exciting, but seeing it side by side with the 350Z, the 370Z definitely looks more modern. I suppose I just need a little time to get used to it.

It’s an improvement from the 350 so you can’t hate it. 😉

It is a nice new desing but I still rather own a nice old 240Z.

After seeing a 370z in person, I’m entirely disappointed. It’s too big and bulky, the lights are all manner of wrong, and the wheels are massively tall. I really wish it were a more exciting car.
