NEWS: Prepare yourself for the new Datsun

In a few hours the world will have a new Datsun. Leading up to the unveiling in India, Nissan has been teasing older Datsuns from the Heritage Collection in Zama.

The old DAT that became Datsun stood for the names of the three investors: Kenjiro Den, Rokuro Aoyama, and Meitaro Takeuchi. As the new global head of the Datsun brand Vincent Cobee explains, in the 30s and 40s, Nissan marketing retconned it to mean Durable, Attractive and Trustworthy. The new Datsun that will be sold in developing nations like Indonesia and Russia? That’ll stand for Dream, Access, and Trust. Make of that what you will.

Stay tuned for a report on the actual car.
