Datsun Dealership from the 1970s

From the age of film cameras comes these photos of Chilliwack Datsun in British Columbia.

These blasts from the past were posted on Ratsun by a forum member named Walperstyle, who found them in his father’s belongings. Imagine taking your pick of all the shiny new 240Zs, 510s and B210s on the lot.

This one was given the caption of “1970s Import Model.” This woman is probably old enough to be our moms.

Looks like the Canucks were equally enamored with Brock Racing Enterprises.

Almost every time I see a racing 510 at Mosport, it will have a variation of that two color paint job. Looks like the “import model” might actually be (or was) a rally driver.

I bought my 1967 RL411 new from Staley Motors in Great Falls Montana. The owner always maintained that he was the second authorized Datsun Dealer in North America, but Datsun would only verify that he was among the first 10, but verbally upped the score to the first 5 off the record. Staley retired and sold the dealership. The new owner changer the name to “International Motors”, wonder if they are still in business.
