EVENTS: 2010 New Year Meeting, Part I

So as we’re sure you all know, the biggest Japanese kyuusha show of the year took place last weekend. The 2010 New Year Meeting has come and gone, and we just received an incoming transmission beamed across the Pacific from our operative Derek Y!

The featured marques were British this year so the J-tin was a bit sparse. But even a sparse day at the New Year Meeting is still nostalgic gold everywhere else. How often do you see a phalanx of triple-diamonds (lead pic) and Isuzus like this?

Nissan Fairlady 240ZG in front of the Fuji TV headquarter building. The only way this scene could be more Japanese is if there was a 10-story robot in the background.

This golden Toyota 2000GT is a New Year Meeting regular, but the way the sun glints off its bodacious lines makes it irresistible to the camera.

A flock of Bluebirds, from 510s in the foreground to Fifties further back.

Everything about this B110 Nissan Sunny — from the white/red/black color palette to the fitment of those Wats without mody modification — is absolutely perfect.

The Vintage Skyline Owners Club always brings the sexy. We are completely torn between four-doors and hardtops hakosukas

A lineup of vans and trucks from the vannin’ specialists at Barracuda. From front to back, H20 Toyota Hiace, E20 Nissan Caravan, H50 Toyota Hiace, and what’s that on the end? A freakin’ Prince Homer!

There’s more to come, but you can check some more pics from JNC reader TetsuyaGarage in the meantime.

Is the 2000GT rolling on stock wheels? They look a little wide(not saying thats a bad thing!)

  6. Xs10shl says:

2000 GT wheels are most likely alumnum repros, which are 1/2 inch wider.

  7. bert says:

The wider wheels work really well on the 200GT. I think toyota should have sold it like that.
